Gretchen has played an integral role in building and developing the concept of Rural Directions.
She has spent more than 15 years of her career in Recruitment and HR roles managing the movement and co-ordination of people throughout various industries. That combined with her passion for working in the rural industry gave Gretchen the essential experience needed for the successful development of the business.
Gretchen and her husband, Syd, are shareholders in a sheep and beef property near Kereru in Hawke’s Bay. Being an employer within the agriculture sector she understands how important it is that the right skill base and level of experience is matched with the appropriate opportunity for a win-win outcome for all.
Since helping start the business, Gretchen’s main focus at Rural Directions is on internal business development, systems analysis and psychometric assessments. She is committed to ensuring a high level of service delivery to both employers and job seekers.
Gretchen has a regular high-level interaction with her network of both colleagues and clients. She is a committee member of Hawkes Bay Human Resources Institute of NZ and continues to be involved in on-going professional development .
