The right people for great primary sector jobs aren’t always actively looking for a new role. They’re often the ones their mates, employers, and communities already know are reliable, hard-working, and respected. If a mate comes to mind, nominate them for one of our current jobs by completing the form below. We’ll reach out confidentially to see if the job is the right fit for them. We know that good people know good people. If your nomination results in a successful job placement, we’ll say thanks with a reward.
How it works
If you have a mate who has the right skills, attitude and experience for a job we’re marketing, we’d love to hear about them.
We’ve made it super easy:
- Tell us your mate’s name – Complete the nomination form and be sure to let us know which role you think they’d be a great match for.
- We’ll reach out – Our team will confidentially contact your mate to see if they’re interested in your recommended job opportunity.
- We’ll take it from there – If your mate’s keen and the right fit, we’ll take them through our recruitment process.
- Get the rewards – If your nominated mate is appointed into the role, we’ll say thanks to you with a reward. Choose one of the following $150 vouchers:

Nominate a Mate Programme — Terms & Conditions
1. Overview
The Nominate a Mate Programme (“Programme”) allows mates to refer friends, family members, or bloody good people (“mates”) for employment opportunities managed by Rural Directions.
By submitting a referral, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Eligibility
- The Programme is open to individuals aged 18 years or older.
- Referrals must be made before your mate has applied or been introduced to us by another source.
3. Eligible Referrals
To qualify as a valid referral:
- Your mate must consent to having their details shared with us.
- Your mate must not already be registered with or actively engaged by Rural Directions in the last 6 months.
- Your mate must not have been referred by another person within the previous 6 months.
- If multiple people refer the same mate for the same job, the first referral received by us will be considered the valid referral.
4. Referral Reward
Where a referral is successful, the referrer may receive the advertised referral reward.
A referral is considered successful only if:
- Your mate is placed in the nominated role through Rural Directions;
- Your mate accepts the job and commences employment.
5. Payment of Rewards
- Referral rewards will be provided to the nominator within 30 days after the mate commences employment.
- Rewards are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged unless otherwise agreed.
- Rewards can be chosen from: Fuel card, Hunting and Fishing voucher, Prezzy card or Supermarket Voucher.
6. Circumstances Where No Reward Is Payable
A reward will not be payable if:
- Your mate was already registered with us in line with eligibility criteria;
- Your mate had already applied for the role;
- Your referral information is incomplete or inaccurate;
- Your mate does not commence employment.
7. Privacy
By making a referral, you confirm that your mate has agreed to you sharing their personal information with Rural Directions for recruitment purposes.
We will collect, use, and store personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
8. Changes to the Programme
Rural Directions reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw the Programme or these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.
9. General
- Our decisions regarding eligibility and payment of referral rewards are final.
- Participation in the Programme does not create any employment relationship.
