Successful projects and more

With the end of 2015 in sight, we’re looking back on a busy year at Rural Directions, operating across the country (Northland to Southland) and in Australia, recruiting for jobs in the Sheep and Beef, Dairy and Agribusiness market.

A couple of key projects stand out – successfully recruiting for NZ’s leading training farm administrated by the NZ Rural Property Trust – Smedley Station, worked on a large project for Dakang NZ Farm Group in the Central NI and recruited for several of NZ’s largest Maori Incorporations.

There remains a strong demand for professional farmers who are committed to a career in the sectors. The expectations of Employees by their Employers is continuing to lift as the businesses demand reporting, commercial acumen, technology skills and Health and Safety.

The on farm market is reasonably settled at the moment which is the normal position in the annual farming cycle and there are several fresh agribusiness opportunities coming to the market in the next month. We are likely to see the Dairy recruitment market enquire early this year as there feels to be some confidence re appearing in the sector and candidates seeking opportunity.
